Music stars will hit the stage this weekend to try to help their former football heroes.

The "Gridiron Greats Super Jam" will raise money to help former NFL players who have now hit hard financial times.

Nils Lofgren of Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band said he's ready to rock.

"I've got an amplifier out of the shop and I'm going to turn it up to 11, just have a ball," Lofgren said. "I'm going to go buy a football and bring a Sharpie cuz there's going to be a lot of my heroes in the game and out of the game there and hopefully I won't bother them too much."

Also making appearances: several former NFL players and singer Paul Rogers of Bad Company and Queen.

The event starts at 9 p.m. Saturday at Hotel Scottsdale. Ticket price: $500. For more information, call (800) 708-1078.
