FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - After yesterday's deadly rampage at Virginia Tech, Northern Arizona University officials were quick to address safety concerns on campus.
The Flagstaff school noted it has never experienced a school shooting, although it has experienced weapons violations in the past.
NAU's public affairs assistant director said the school is a safe campus with protocols in place that keep students, faculty and staff as safe as possible.
Some of the protocols include a ban on all weapons including guns, explosives, knives and martial arts equipment.
And, there's also a no tolerance policy regarding physical threats made by students against others.
In reacting to the murders at Virginia Tech, the school's press office said "our hearts go out to the people in Virginia who are struggling with this horrific tragedy."
