The nation's first Capitol Christmas tree cut from an Arizona forest arrived in Washington D.C. Monday morning.

Thousands saw the tree during its tour of Arizona and the US, and now millions will see it worldwide when it is lit up next Tuesday.

Rick Davalos of the Forest Service was along for every mile of the journey for the tree and the goodies to go on it.

"Six-thousand ornaments that Arizonans made statewide, and we have them right here with us - they're all boxed up and ready to deliver to them," he said.

Davalos said the tree, whose ornaments were made by Arizona students and teachers, has received a warm reception everywhere it has gone.
