A Delta Airlines plane flying from Phoenix to Salt Lake City was forced to return to Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport about 20 minutes after takeoff Monday morning.

Ian Gregor of the FAA said the plane was somewhere over Carefree, north of Phoenix, when "it struck one or more birds which caused damage to the windshield and a pressurization problem with the aircraft."

No one aboard Flight 1232 was hurt, Gregor said.

Ever wondered why you've been hearing the juts fly over more recently? That's because they've lowered the altitudes for arriving and departing aircraft. Send your concerns to the FAA. With the increase in technology available they should be able to have safer flight paths, not necessarily lower ones.
