More woes for mom whose kids ate dog food

PHOENIX - A Mesa woman whose kids were found eating dog food last summer, is in trouble again.

Twenty-year-old Samantha Abernathy gained notoriety in June when her two small children were found eating dog food, after she went to visit a boyfriend in the middle of the night.

Now, she's been arrested, for failing to show up in court. She's been booked into the 4th Avenue Jail, pending court proceedings.

Neighbors called police this summer, after neighbors called to say her 1-year-old and 3-year-old kids were wandering, unsupervised, in an apartment complex parking lot.

  Good, keep her there. Her children will be much safer. As a child I was left alone many times. Latch key kid before the term was coined, but I never had to resort to eating dog food.

  long enough. Why does this crackhead even have these kids to begin with? She's an obvious drug abuser and these children, when it was reported the FIRST time around, should have been taken away from her - ETERNALLY. While she's awaiting to appear in court, how about a nice SPAY for this DOG? At least she won't be reproducing!

  are the two kids? Let's hope a judge doesn't decide somewhere down the line that "the children should be with their mother." Then the next scenario - the children are found dead and we pay for mama to sit in jail for 20 years.
