Pet Butler -- a little dirty, but good pay, flexibility

GILBERT, Ariz. -- If you're a clean freak and love animals, a Valley company has a job for you.
Have you ever thought about being a fecal matter technician?
"A.k.a. pooper scoopers," explains Sandy Aaron with the firm Pet Butler.
"We do residential yards, we do homeowners' associations, we do apartment communities, we do dog parks, we even do shopping centers," Aaron said.
She said you have to be an animal lover, you can't be afraid of dogs and you also have to make out reports of what you find.
"We're in the yard, we're reporting back really the state of the dog's waste," she said. "Is there blood, is there worms, is there diarrhea, is it healthy?"
Aaron said workers can make about $15 an hour, once they develop a list of clients and their own route.
She said that's not hard to do.
"We're adding commercial customers all the time, residential customers."
Pet Butler has bonus programs for workers, but one major perk for an "FMT" is flexibility, said Aaron.
"You know how many hours it takes to finish your route. So if you want to take a three-hour lunch to do something, you can do that. You have a lot of freedom and flexibility."
