TEMPE, Ariz. - Arizona State once again starts the week not knowing who their quarterback will be when they play on Saturday.
The trio of quarterbacks for the Sun Devils are all banged up in some capacity.
Senior Danny Sullivan, who had been the starter until last Saturday, missed the game against Oregon due to a right bicep injury which made true freshman Brock Osweiler the starter.
The start was Osweiler's first in his career and he ended up being injured late in the first half after taking a hard hit. Osweiler went out with a left shoulder injury - his non-throwing shoulder.
With Sullivan and Osweiler out the Sun Devils turned to sophomore Samson Szakacsy.
Szakacsy has been nursing an ailing elbow since August. The elbow is not completely healed and coach Dennis Erickson will see how Szakacsy feels coming off playing the entire second half on Saturday.
"When he throws for a long period of time or throws it bother him," Erickson said of Szakacsy's arm.
With all of those factors in play Erickson is not going to rush to make a decision about who will be the signal caller when the Sun Devils travel to UCLA on Saturday.
"We'll just wait and see, I haven't decided what we are going to do yet," Erickson said.
Erickson does expect Sullivan and Osweiler to be back and available but will need to see how practice goes throughout the week.
In practice Szakacsy is expected to take most of the snaps with the first team this week.
If Szakacsy would start on Saturday if would be his first career start.
