CLICK CHICK ARCHIVE - November '07 PICKS

11/30 - KTAR.com Poll of the Day Results: We asked what kind of tree most people are getting - real or artificial. I was surprised that 77 percent said artificial. I like the smell of a real Christmas tree myself.

FreeRice.com: Got a link awhile ago called freerice.com. You play a word test game - finding the correct definition for a word. Each word correct means another donation of free rice to those in need. According to snopes.com - the site works and is the real deal. Since it's free, the money is paid by advertisers on the site. As more people play, the more ad revenue they get and that helps more people.

Closed Captioning Gone Wrong: Also from Snopes.com, a submission from Jayme West. OK, all I'll say about this is sometimes the people who write closed captioning for TV make mistakes. Apparently, during the Malibu fires, someone was supposed to write the word evacuating. But, someone got a screen capture of KABC-TV and that was not the word they wrote. See for yourself...

ElfYourself.com: And it's time to Elf Yourself. Just like last year, those crazy kids at Office Max have once again put up their Elf Yourself page. Basically, you can go to the Web load your picture and your head is put on a dancing elf body. They give you a link and you can share it with all of your friends. Heck, you can even put grandma's pic in there too.

The Golden Compass Controversy: OK, I'm getting email from folks asking me to be careful when reviewing Nicole Kidman's new movie "The Golden Compass." It's by a noted atheist and they want me to people it's anti-Christian or anti-Catholic. Well, I haven't seen the movie yet nor have I finished to book, so I can't say anything about either one. But I have found an interesting article about the controversy on the Web. Apparently, Catholics think the movie is anti-God and atheists think it won't be anti-God enough.

11/29 - Gravel-Paul Political Report: Back by popular demand on Red v. Blue Thursday: It's a return of the Click Chick Gravel-Paul Political Report where I go underneath the headlines. I actually have news on Mike Gravel apparently "drops some rhymes." It's the Mike Gravel rap. There really is a debate as to whether or not it is Gravel. We web folks think maybe it is him. But we're not 100 percent on that. If it really is him, his staffers should have stopped him from making such a poor video. Watch the video...

YouTube Republican Debate: If you missed the free-for-all that was called the GOP debate last night, then you missed a verbal slugfest. It was the GOP's turn to answer video questions from the masses via YouTube and CNN. It also included the GOP Debate Song that includes the lyrics, "Tancredo says let's build a fence across the whole Southwest, McCain is loved by many and hated by the rest."

KTAR.com Comment Boards: And speaking of no love for McCain. Some KTAR.com peeps certainly don't like McCain's position that not all illegal immigrants should be deported. McCain said, "If you're prepared to send an 80-year-old grandmother who's been here 70 years back to some country, then, frankly you're not quite as compassionate as maybe I am." One response to that on KTAR.com said "That's why Americans hate McCain." Click here to read story and make comments...

Another Shatner Cabinet Announcement: You know I've endorsed Capt. James T. Kirk for president. And I've made various cabinet announcements for Kirk's administration. Well, I have another cabinet announcement to make. For Secy. of Transportation, no one else could do the job like our own super hero in the sky -- Detour Dan Beach.

Fast Cars: OK, someone keeps posting this link in the comments section KTAR.com. I heard Mac Watson talking about this last night. Sandra Haros did a story about it. I'm talking about the guy who is allegedly going 219 mph in a Lamborghini on a random Arizona freeway. To the person who keeps posting this, it's not Breaking News, but if you continue to allegedly drive at 200+ mph on the freeway instead of a race track, you're going to be breaking your neck. We web folks think it's a hoax. Drive 200+ mph and you're wearing no gloves?Watch the YouTube video...

11/28 - Mind the Gap Announcer Fired for Spoof Announcements: I give you the story or Emma Clarke. Who's she? Well if you've been to London and you took the Underground (their version of the subway) then you've heard her voice saying "Mind the Gap." Well little Emma has been fired from her gig. Apparently, she put spoof messages on her Web site and that got her fired. What did those messages say? Well one said "We would like to remind our American tourist friends that you are almost certainly talking too loudly." Another pokes a little fun at profiling. You can see watch that on YouTube. You can also read the story here...

Marshmallow Launcher: This is another Click Chick Holiday Joy Guaranteed* gift for the munchkins on your Christmas list. This launcher launches marshmallows. So, if your kids want to play Kirk and Kahn (Star Trek reference), then no one will cry when they get hit with the sweet, white ammo. Of course, if someone starts crying and says they're hurt, you know they're lying.

Top 10 Stupid Holiday Gifts: Leave it to our friends at Stupid.com to come up with the top 10 stupid holiday gifts. You can see them for yourself, but as you can see in the picture on the left, this egg separator is kinda gross. Maybe I'll get an office collection together and we can give it to the boss. Alright, I'm kidding. Or am I? You know some guy is going to give that to a girl. Then he's going to wonder why she broke up with him. There's also a dog poop calendar (and you have to wonder who dreamed that up).

The Ex Knife Set: I've got another funny gift idea. Check out ThinkGeek.com. I've told you about them before, but I don't think I told you about "The Ex." The Ex is a "unique knife holder" shaped like a person and it hold knives. It's made of heavy duty ABS plastic and it will cost you less than alimony check. But wait, there's more! It comes with 5 knives. See the knife set...

KITT as a Mustang?: Here's something I didn't expect. There's apparently going to be a new Knight Rider TV show. I doubt The Hoff will be in this one. But here's the kicker - the rumor and I mean rumor, no confirmation here, is KITT the car will be cast by a classic American coupe known as a Ford Mustang. Heck, I'll watch it just for that. Read the story...

Frugal Billionaires: So how do the super rich stay that way? Well, the Click Chick has the answer for you. They're cheap. Excuse me, frugal I think is the PC word. That's the secret. You have to be cheap to get super rich. Forbes.com has a list of them. Like the billionaire in India who drove a Ford Escort for eight years before upgrading to a Corolla. And you have to love Berkshire Hathaway's Warren Buffet. Lately, he's been sticking up for the middle class, lamenting the fact that he pays less taxes, as a percentage of income, than his other employees including secretaries and receptionists.
11/27 - Interstellar Aliens in New Mexico: New Mexico's tourism office has a new ad campaign that's stirring controversy. Apparently, they're using aliens - the interstellar kind - to sell folks on the finer points of a visit to New Mexico. But some think it will confuse and scare people away. Just so you know folks, the bosses' kids' favorite display at last year's Santa's theme park was the Santa with aliens. So, who they think it will scare, I don't know. Area 51 doesn't scare me. See the ads... (They're at the top of the page. The menu of choices are on the left)

The Terrorist Bride: Smart thinking US troops stopped a wedding convoy only to find out the bride and groom were terror suspects. Did I tell you the bride had an Adams' apple? See the pictures and read the story...

Dumb Criminals: I love to watch Cops when I get a chance. And Cops has put an episode devoted to dumb criminals online. Viewer discretion is advised. Watch the episode...

The Agony of De-Bite : Talk about a personal foul during the Alabama Auburn Iron bowl game. In case Paul talked about this or not, I've got the video of the dog taking a bite out of one of the Auburn players in the end zone. Watch the video...

Catkins: If you're like me and you live with a 23 pound cat, you might want to try the Catkins diet. I found a link to that online, courtesy MSN. For the record, it's not my cat and he's named Shaq. He's built like him too.

On the Day You Were Born...: Want to know the Number 1 song from the day you were born? Some guy put a site together that lets you do just that. You pick the month and the date and they're sorted by year. The surprising thing is that a family friend of my mom's tune #1. It was Everyday People by Sly and the Family Stone. My mother knew him back in the 40s and early 50s. See what was #1 on the day you were born...
11/26 - MyBlueCollar: Now, I have to thank Tom Lockhart. I love the Blue Collar Comedy guys. And I don't know why I'd never heard of this site, but now it's one of my favorites. It's called MyBlueCollar. Now, if you love Jeff Foxworthy, Larry the Cable Guy or Bill Engvall, then this is the Web site for you. So far, the funniest video is called "Wide Leg Stance" featuring Larry - the Cable Guy as Senator Larry Craig. They even have a gift guide for the kids. If you don't know what to get your kids - Bill Engvall suggests the Larry the Cable Guy action figure. And make sure to check out "Chuck Norris Will Hate This."

Turkey Day Redux: OK - the funniest line from the family Thanksgiving dinner is my mom's question to me: What is YouTube? I said, "Mom, YouTube is my Santa Claus."

It's Cyber Monday: It's a national holiday - at least for the Click Chick and I've got to buy something. Why? Because she didn't celebrate Black Friday, Black Saturday and we can thank the Cardinals for Black Sunday. Online sales are expected to exceed $700M today. We posted a weekend poll on ktar.com. We wanted to know how they'll be making a majority of their purchases - online or in the malls. Well, it was nearly an even split with 554 saying they would make purchases online and the other half - 545 - said they'd be heading to the mall.

GottaDeal.com: This Web site is a plethora of coupons and deals you'd spend hours trying to find. It lets you know about cashback deals with credit cards and others. PayPal is featuring some kind of 20% cash back deal if you use various retailers - of course, watch the fine print. And you can also track down coupons with various retailers and it features forums. It even lets you sort deals by whether or not free shipping is offered.

Be Green With Your Old PC: Pick up a new computer or laptop over the weekend. Recycle! Earth 911 lets you enter your zip code or city name and find where you can find a PC recycling center near you - I entered Phoenix and there are 5 pages of options for you. You can also find out where to recycle those old batteries, pesticides, books and more.
11/21 - Another Black Friday Site: I think I've go the bestest Black Friday cheat sheet so far. This web site has info on specific products for sale, like, oh say, a DVD player for $9 - with the manufacturers rebate. Or if you have lots of teens and disappearing towels at your house, like my mother did when I was living at home, you might like to get ahold of the $1.99 towels. Or Michael, you'll like this one, you can get 300 on DVD for $5.98. That's DVD not VHS. Check out the entire Web site: www.bfads.net

Last Minute T-Day Recipes: Joe Morgan a devoted listener of our morning show here, took my recommendation and went to the Food Network Web site - www.foodtv.com. As I've said before - that site has myriad of recipes - especially if you want to find a quick recipe for cornbread or sweet potato pie. Joe wants to let you know I substitute the regular stewed tomatoes with S&W brand stewed tomatoes (the Italian style, diced with roasted garlic) and the extra virgin olive oil and ground peppercorn. It gives it a nice touch. Thanks, Joe.

Big Bug: If you see The Mist, this story will freak you out. I found this story in the Tech/Science section on KTAR.com. Apparently, there's no can or raid that could have killed the big bug someone dug up in Great Britain. They've unearthed a giant scorpion that's bigger than an adult human. Check it out...

Mom is Santa?: This is for parents and grown ups only. We have to close ranks and keep the secret we've been keeping for years. Someone hasn't said anything - YET - but the kids are suspicious. Don't worry, the commercial I'm linking to here with proof is rated PG, so don't get nervous. But it serves as a pretty hilarious warning for you. When you're hiding your stuff like gifts and other things - you really need to hide your stuff. We have to keep Santa's secrets, right? Watch this holiday greeting card...

For Sodoku Lovers: Now, from the Click Chick's mailbag - Hello Gayle Bass, I would like to recommend a very nice Web site for your review in the "CLICK CHICK'S DAILY PICKS" category. It's www.sudokujunction.com. This is a web 2.0 style site made for Sudoku players. Members can upload, share and play Sudoku puzzles over the web. Signed, Kenyan G. Thanks, Kenyan. If you get stranded in the Des Moines airport while trying to get to granny's this long weekend, you'll be happy you brought your laptop with you.
11/20 - KTAR.com Poll of the Day: We know the county attorney is spending several hundred thousand dollars of cash seized from criminals on an anti-Dui billboard campaign. We asked if you think that money should be used elsewhere and 59% of you said yes.

Invite the Man to the Tempe Improv: I've found the new Victor Bergen. This ventriloquist is named Terry Fator (from Mesquite, TX) and his dummy happens to be a girl named Emma Taylor and she does impressions of music. Meaning, he sings like a girl and well. Check him out singing At Last on America's Got Talent. Watch the video...
My favorite Fator act is with his turtle and they imitate Kermit the Frog and Louis Armstrong singing a duet. Watch that video...

70s Music Was Good: Ned Foster thinks the best music came from the 60s. You know the Stones, Motown. Yes, it was great music. BUT the Click Chick loves 70s music toon. The Click Chick loves the Doobie Brothers. I'm just saying...
By the way, here's a link to the Doobie Brothers appearing on that early 80s show "What's Happening."

Classic TV & Commercials: If you're my age, you remember Mr. Whipple starring in those Charmin commercials for years. He passed away and it reminded me of some other classic commercials I remember, including Burger King telling me to have it my way. Of course, there's the familiar holiday ads. Who can't forget the Norelco Santa gliding away in the snow on his electric razor. Speaking of classic TV, who doesn't remember the beginning to this classic 70s Saturday morning 'toon Fat Albert. I found a bunch of this kind of stuff at RetroJunk.com. They have all kinds of classic TV show and commercial tid bits.
11/19 - Jib Jab Thanksgiving Cards: Yes, Jib Jab has Thanksgiving cards to send to the one you love. But you better make sure the receiver has a sense of humor because they're not exactly sweet Boynton type cards. The funniest is the message from your colon (Yes, that's a colon pictured to the left.). And your colon has a bit of a potty mouth. It's bleeped, but you can pretty much figure out what he's trying to say. You're a bit safer with the cranberries Thanksgiving card. But you should know, they're not free. They cost about 30 Jib Jab credits and I think 50 credits = $5.

Hot Cows: From the AP photo wires... The Chick-fil-A "Eat Mor Chikin" Cows are at it again this Holiday Season! The popular Cow Calendar shines the spotlight on One Hit Wonder Cows! Chick-fil-A also is offering the calendar as a free gift to guests who purchase a $20 Chick-fil-A gift card. Otherwise, the calendars are on sale for just $5 (plus tax). Additionally, four plush toy versions of the One-Hit Wonder Cows are available for purchase at $4.99 each. Check out: cowcalendars.com

Click Chick Rewind: I have a click chick rewind and it's just for you New England Patriots fans. It's the Tom Brady tribute song. Which leads me to ask this question, when is someone going to do one for Kurt Warner?

Holiday Gift List Registry: Do people always buy you the weird or inappropriate stuff for Christmas gifts? I have a friend that still buys me toys (they're actually quite fun, but I don't have a toy box anymore and no room for them). I always get some bottle of perfume I'll never use. And I have enough curling irons and hair dryers to open a beauty shop thanks to all the folks who don't know what to get me. First, we have to remember it's the thought that counts. It's really nice to be thought of and have someone spend some cash on you. BUT... if you can't think what to get someone because you have no idea what their likes are dislikes are, then tell them to register on www.thethingsiwant.com. Basically, it's a gift registry. You can create a list with items you like and links to where they can be purchased. It allows your family and friends to see what you'd REALLY would like for the holidays.

Helpful Holiday Hint #1: If you regift, make sure you take off the original To:/From: gift tag. That could be a tiny bit embarrassing for both of you.
11/16 - A Theater is Not a Nursery: First, a Click Chick commentary. If you take your infant to a movie - I don't want to hear it crying the whole movie. At a kids movie, I understand if you've got a couple of kids and a baby. But infants at a grown up movie. Not nice.

Hillary Game: If you're not a Hillary or Bill Clinton fan (or a Bush fan, or a Thompson fan, or an Edwards fan), this Web site is for you. Stop Her Now has put together an online animated game where you can be Hillary and whack some turkeys. You have 30 seconds to whack as many as you can, if you whack Bill with the mallet, you get double points. For some reason, they didn't feature this Web site during last night's debate. Hillary Whacking Game...

Extreme Wheelchair Stunts: Think only kids with skateboards and roller blades are the only ones having fun at skate parks and with extreme sports. Someone sent me the link of some kids in wheelchairs hanging 10 and getting dangerous along with everyone else. It proves people with disabilities like extreme sports like everyone else. Watch extreme wheelchair stunts...

Black Friday Shopping Cheat Sheet: The Click Chick has the Black Friday Thanksgiving 2007 cheat sheet. Someone has got ahold of day after Thanksgiving sales ads from some national chains including Costco, Best Buy and put them on Web site. The ads look authentic but are unofficial, but some of them look like photos of the actual ads so use at your own risk. Good luck trying to decipher some of them. That Web site also lead me to Deals of America, which features bargains, coupons and freebies. You'll want to check out the Deals of America Black Friday 2007 cheat sheet too.

North Pole Cookie List: The North Pole Web site has a list of ever Christmas cookie you've ever wanted to eat. Next Friday, if you prefer not to brave the crowds, and would rather stay home and bake Christmas cookies. This web site even has recipes for Aunt Edy's Molasses Crinkles and Chocolate Cream Cheese Squares - I know I'm going to try that one.

Odd Baby Toys: OK, I found a site called Divine Caroline. Basically, it's a site for mom's sharing parenting info and the like. Well, she's also got a list of strange baby toys... and that include... There's a baby toupee. A baby bottom fan, and a baby cage. OK, it's obvious they're not real, but it's a funny read. I checked the baby cage Web site and they suggest putting wood shavings at the bottom of the cage.
11/-15 - TV's 50 Greatest Icons: The list of TV's 50 Greatest Icons is out . And guess who tops the list according to Entertainment Weekly and TV Land? Johnny Carson. Jon Stewart and David Letterman made the list, but not Carson's successor Jay Leno. Shows you what having better ratings than Letterman does for you. Fonzie (Henry Winkler) and Regis Philbin made the list. So did Lassie, a pooch, and Kermit the Frog, a muppet. What I don't understand is how Jennifer Aniston made it into the top 50 with the likes of Carol Burnett and Maude (Bea Arthur). I also question why Calista Flockhart (Ally McBeal) ranks above Larry Hagman (J.R. Ewing). TV's 50 Greatest Icons List...

Funny TV Moment: Speaking of TV. One of our listeners sent me a link to what he thinks is the funniest outtake moments in TV history. It's from the Carol Burnett show and it's Tim Conway going way off script talking about an elephant and his trainer. What's funny is seeing them all (Burnett, Vicki Lawrence and guest star Dick Van Dyke) try to keep it together. It is a pretty funny outtake. So, since I love Carol Burnett, I have to agree it's darn funny. However, to me, the funniest moment was when Sammy Davis, Jr. kissed Archie Bunker. Watch the Carol Burnett Show outtake...

The 10 Office Commandments: You all know or should know the 10 Commandments, but did you know there were also 10 workplace sins? On that list, what you'd expect - no spreading gossip, no calling in sick when you're perfectly healthy, or no showing up when you're not. The Click Chick's personal favorite is #9 - No hitting on the boss. Who needs to be told that? (I say it's OK IF he happens to be one of the following: Denzel Washington, Brad Pitt or Garry Shandling). By the way, #10 is hitting on your employees. The 10 Deadly Office Sins...

New Zoo Animals: The news only the Click Chick will get you. The Wildlife World Zoo has some new arrivals for the holiday season - the world slowest mammals. No, it's not your Uncle Murray. The WWZ has its first pair of two-toed sloths. Web site: www.Wildlifeworld.com
By the way, Dr. Grey Stafford from the WWZ is recovering from a bad, bad bone break. So, he can't go on his book tour, so do him a favor and check out his link to his book "Zoomility."

Damon Darn Sexy: Matt Damon is the sexiest man alive. That's according to People magazine. I mean, he's really cute. Loved his Bourne movies. But let's be clear here, Garry Shandling has been overlooked for the honor one too many times. I'm going to boycott People magazine until they give Shandling the recognition he deserves.

11/14 - Call in Sick, Stay Off Facebook: Now, have you ever lied and called in sick when you really weren't? Well, next time you do it don't update your Facebook account with what you were doing while playing hooky you can get caught like one intern that is now all over the Internet. He called in with a personal emergency, but had the time to post this picture on his Facebook page. Someone posted his picture and his note to his bosses on the Internet and now no one will ever hire him again. Read the story...

Here's the Headline: "Alligator Eats Robbery Suspect on the Run." The alleged wanna-be car thief tried to escape via a lake behind a Florida casino, but didn't see the sign that read "Danger Live Alligators" when he tried to swim away. By the way, authorities found that gator. It was 9-foot-3 and apparently, he didn't much like protesters. Watch the video and see the gator...

Mom Blogs: Looking for that story KTAR's Diane Brennan did on mom blogs? Click here...

Remember A Soldier: Click Chick correction. OK everyone, I suggested sending a veteran a card during the holidays to: A Recovering American soldier c/o Walter Reed Army Medical Center. However, someone kindly pointed out to me that was an email hoax, according to snopes.com. Now, I know you can't send care packages overseas addressed to "Any Soldier, Anywhere" for security reasons. However, what I didn't know is that you can't send holiday cards to any soldiers at Walter Reed either. Sorry for the misinformation. However, there are other ways you can help our wounded service members at usocares.org. I'm sure everyone has heard about what good the USO does. Or you can try packagesfromhome.org.

Gifts for the Hard to Buy For: OK, so you have that person on your gift list that you don't know what to buy them. It's all happened to us - you're in the office secret Santa pool and you get the guy that has every gadget known to man. What do you get them? I wouldn't be the Click Chick if I didn't have a solution for you. Try The Spoon Sisters - great gifts opening everywhere. That's where you can find gifts like the "Extreme Office Crafts: Creative & Devious Ways to Waste Office Supplies and Company Time." Just to verify, I actually found that book on Amazon.com to make sure it was real. Then there's the $16 airplane baby spoon (It comes in pink and blue). Or there's adult Mad Libs 'The Who Moved My Cubicle" Edition for only $3.99. And my personal favorite - Tattoos for the elderly.

Dick Cheney's Theme: I think I'm only giving you this link because of I love the "Dick Cheney Battle Cry" song aka "Imperial March" from Star Wars by the esteemed composer John Williams. Someone has done a little animated video of Darth Vader conducting an orchestra of Storm Troopers with his light saber. It's real cute. Watch the video...

11/13 - Killer Bean, Vol. 1: Yesterday, I told you about Killer Bean Forever - the animated action film about a gun-toting killer bean. Well, apparently, there's an original it's based on that's several years old. One of our IT guys that will remain nameless - Ryan Jones - claims to have had this video in his PDA for about six year because he loved it so much. This short is about 7 1/2 minutes long and has just as much action at the first Matrix film. Watch the Killer Bean short...

Sound Effects: Someone with way too much time on their hands has put together the 10 greatest star wars sounds. Funny how Jar Jar Binks didn't make the list. See for yourself...

Barack Obama's Nickname: Guess what I bet you didn't know about Barack Obama. He had another name. Ladies and gentleman, I'm going to break it wide open. Why? Because the Click Chick gives you the news no one dare touch. But my snap crack team of Web investigators discovered that back in 1978 when Sen. Obama was in high school in Hawaii, he was then known as "Barry" and he had a little more to that 'fro of his too.

Another Shatner Administration Announcement: OK, who should be Attorney General for the Shatner Administration? I can think of no one else but Darth Vader. Think about it. He could use the powers of the Dark Side of the Force to get bad guys to confess to their crimes without having to resort to wireless wiretapping.

11/12 - Thanks, Veterans: First, I want to thank all our veterans for their service -- that includes the Click Chick's big brother Chauncey. He was a Marine Corps drill instructor and he served in the Gulf War.

Star Trek TNG Episode Song: OK, you all know I love Star Trek. I prefer the original series over all the rest. However, I did really like TNG. Well, just in case you didn't know - there's the Star Trek TNG Episode Song. Basically, some guy wrote a song that explains what happened in each episode of every season of Star Trek TNG. Watch the video here...

Another Click Chick Stocking Stuffer DVD Giveaway: First and foremost, check out the Click Chick's gift bag. Yep, it's Another Click Chick Stocking Stuffer DVD Giveaway. I'm giving away 2 copies of the Ratatouille DVD. Click here to register for your chance to win a copy.

Killer Bean Forever Trailer: And the Click Chick is also looking forward to Killer Bean Forever. It's an animated action comedy about a killer coffee bean. It was funded in its entirety by one of the special effects guys on The Matrix movies. He's maxed out his credit cards and spent his entire savings making the movie. So buy a ticket and go see it when it comes out! Watch the trailer...

Shatner Administration Staffing Announcement: The Click Chick had a dream she was the POTUS last night (That's Pres. Click Chick of the good ol' US of A). And I have to say, it was a nightmare trying to work with Nancy Pelosi AND Sen. Mitch McConnell. Don't ever vote for me if I run for office. And of course that dream brings to mind that as the Karl Rove to President Capt. James T. Kirk, I have another staffing announcement to make for the Shatner Administration. The head of FEMA will be none other than Dr. Benton Quest. Jonny Quest's dad is a shoe in for the position. And remember, he has his dashing side-kick Race Bannon. You get two for one. And I can guarantee you they'll do a good job, Brownie.

Bonus Pay: Why it pays millions to be a bad CEO. Click here...
11/9 - Another Shatner Cabinet Announcement: As KTAR talks the vote, I am doing my Karl Rovian best to fill out the cabinet of my dream presidency of Capt. James T. Kirk. Remember I've got Rambo as VP, Iron Man as Secretary of Defense. Josie and the Pussycats for Secy of State and I know what you're all wondering. Who will help educate our children? Who will be Secretary of Education? Ladies and gentleman, there is only ONE CHOICE. Could it be anyone other than Mr. Peabody? Don't you remember Mr. Peabody's Improbably History segments on the Rocky and Bullwinkle show? Remember Mr. Peabody always had a lesson for his boy Sherman. And Mr. Peabody adds diversity to the cabinet. He would be the first canine to hold office.

Beer Emergency: Only in Hebron, Texas - near San Antonio - state police say a man named Brian Poulin called 911, but it wasn't for an emergency or rather your average emergency. He called 911 because he ran out of beer and wanted someone to pick some up for him. And police say that he called more than once! Watch the news report...

Achmed the Terrorist: This is surely going to be controversial. A 10 minute video of comedian Jeff Dunham and his puppet Achmed the Terrorist has received nearly 2.4 million views on the Internet. I have to say, it made the Click Chick uncomfortable. But I want you folks to watch it and I want to know if it bothers you or if you think it's much ado about nothing. Mail your comments to webmaster@ktar.com. It's got some strong language, so you've been forewarned. Just a note, I've seen Jeff D. in action at the Improv and his dummy Peanut and the old man he does are pretty funny.

Get Your Food TV: Getting ready for Thanksgiving at your house? Remember it's less than two weeks away. Make sure to check out the Food Network Web site because they not only have tons of Thanksgiving recipes, they have videos that show you how to prepare stuff.

'24' Spoof: If you're a fan of the TV show 24 or if you have experience with AOL - college humor has put together a Jack Bauer spoof. Watch the video...

Super Expensive Sundae: Got $25,000 lying around? How about the $25,000 Sundae? What's in it. Rare cocoas, edible gold dust and a "la Madeline" truffle. You get to keep the gold goblet and the diamond encrusted gold spoon. See the story...
11/8 - The 2008 Ford Mustang Bullitt: If you're like me you like Steve McQueen and muscle cars and the Click Chick loves muscle cars. And guess what I've found. Pictures of the 2008 Ford Mustang Bullitt. I've got to tell Santa (Dad) that I've been really, really good this year.

No Beijing Bible Ban: Just in case you didn't hear. Bibles for personal use will NOT be banned at the Olympics. Apparently some erroneous reports got out that Bibles would be prohibited at the Olympic Games in Beijing. Apparently the Catholic News Agency said the Beijing Olympics organizing committee created the ban. But the committee is denying the ban exists. You just know some reporter somewhere is going to get his or her hand smacked by a nun with a ruler over this one. Read the story...

Shatner Administration Political Report: Let's face it. The Click Chick is the Karl Rove of the Shatner Adminstration. As you know, I've already got Capt. Kirk to lead my dream ticket. Rambo would be his VP. But I haven't added any women to the administration yet. And I'm thinking the Josie from Hanna Barbera's Josie and the Pussycats cartoon show would be perfect for Secretary of State. You send Josie and the Pussycats to North Korea in their little cat costumes and they can get Kim Jong Il to just give them his nukes and everything else. I know, I'm a political genius. Watch the Josie and Pussycat's opening credits...

TV Ministries in the Hot Seat: A Senate Republican is investigating the lifestyles of the rich and pious. They want to know where millions of donations from the faithful are going. Hundreds of millions come into the ministries and Sen. Chuck Grassley wants to know among other things about a tax exempt gift of a Bentley convertible that was from Florida preachers Paula White and her soon to be ex-hubby Randy to Texas preacher Bishop TD Jakes. Oh, they also want to know about Paula's expense account for clothing and cosmetic surgery. The list goes on and on, unfortunately. Read the story...

SongFacts.com - Ever hear a song and want to know the story behind it? Song Facts is here for you. I looked up "The Reflex" Duran Duran since I was a big Duranie and well, just what I suspected Simon LeBon "claims" has no idea what it's really about. Well, I have my own ideas and so do others who've made comments on the comment board. And then there's that Manfred Man song "Blinded by the Light" -- written by The Boss no less -- and it has the story of the original lyrics that weren't "Revved up like a Duece..." which most people think is something else when they first hear it.

Elevatorrules.com: It's my favorite site of the day. Yes, there are rules about taking the elevator and going up only 1 floor. It's OK under certain circumstances. Enough said.
11/7 - More Shatner Cabinet Announcments: OK, I have a clarification to make. First when I say William Shatner for president I really mean Capt. James Tiberius Kirk because Shatner was born in Canada and therefore cannot be president. But Kirk hails from Iowa so he's sure to run away with the Iowa caucus. Now, who should he appoint to the run the food inspection division of the USDA? Ratatouille. Who else but a rat would know what foods are good and bad for you? Actually that's a clip from one of the extras on the Ratatouille DVD and since it's Disney, that DVD is packed with extras. But you can watch it online, courtesy the Click Chick and MSN, of course... Watch the DVD extra clip...

11/6 - $1,000 Pizza: Got an extra $1,000 to throw around the next time you're in New York? How about the most expensive pizza in the city? It can only be had at the Pizza Bellisima. Watch the video and see what goes into the 1,000 sundae and the $1 grand omelet.

Yelp - boasts real people and real reviews of local restaurants, bookstores and coffee bars, even Camelback mountain. It's a national web site but PHX is obviously on the list. What's most reviewed on the site? Delux which has some really gooooood burgers (and try the sweet potato fries too!) and Pizzeria Bianco which I hear has good pizza (but I haven't tried waiting in line for 4 hours to get a piece). Some peeps have even reviewed Sky Harbor Airport. It got 3 1/2 out of 5 stars.

Zillow - this site uses tax records and sales history to "Zestimate" the value of your home. All you need to punch in is the address.

President Shatner's Cabinet: Since I endorsed Rambo yesterday for VP today, I am filling out some more of President William Shatner's cabinet. How about Iron Man as the Secretary of Defense? He can design weapons and use them himself. I like a CEO that gets down in the trenches with us worker bees. Watch the trailer. Iron Man is the latest Marvel comic turned movie. Robert Downey Jr., Gwenyth Paltrow and Terrence Howard star.

11/5 - Election '08 Click Chick Endorsement: With the election one year from now, KTAR.com has ramped up it's Election 2008 coverage. Of course, I know what you're all thinking: Who did the Click Chick say she was endorsing for president? Again, with no further adieu to those who have forgotten. Shatner in '08. Yes, I'm endorsing William Shatner - aka Capt. James Tiberius Kirk of the ET party. Remember, you can get a Shatner in '08 shirt on cafepress.com. I've told about that Web site before, but what I didn't tell you is you can design your own t-shirt and have them print it up for you. So, if you can't find that Mike Gravel in '08 shirt, then you can just make your own.

Rambo for VP: OK, the Click Chick has already endorsed William Shatner in '08. But who is running mate? I have the perfect person and he could probably in the war single handedly - John Rambo. That's right Rambo aka Sly Stallone. By the way, did you know there's a new Rambo movie coming out? If they could do another Rocky, wby not another Rambo movie? Watch the trailer...

11/2 - Victoria's Secret Dolls: OK, it's something you that's caused a bit of a ruckus. Have you guys heard about the Victoria's Secret dress up dolls. These aren't like the 50 foot posters out in Gilbert that have some people complaining. They are little dolls wearing skimpy out fits. Read about it here...

KTAR.com Poll Results: It seems not many people want to work a straight five day work week anymore, according to our KTAR.com poll. Eighty-four percent chose a 4 days on, 3 days off work week. Ten percent chose a two-weeks-on, one-week- off work week which is what I'd love. Only six percent wanted to stay on a five day work week.

Cannonball for Jesus: Who says you can't have a big laugh in church and there if you do something funny, they have to forgive you right. Well, a young man after being baptized decided one dunk wasn't enough for him so he went back for seconds and did a cannonball dive into the baptismal pool.

11/1 - The Click Chick Costume Contest: The official results are in and the winner of the Click Chick's unofficial Boo-day Halloween costume contest is my friend Rich Needham. I know, my other buddy who went as K-Fed (with his girlfriend as Britney) is really disappointed, but Rich's cockroach, as you can see on the left, amused me the most. I especially liked the touch where he had a message from the roaches to the world written on his costume: "We know where you live..." I have to say, that was the scariest costume of all time because it's true.

Belated Scary Story: Also, I forgot to mention former New Times award-winning film critic and writer M.V. Moorhead's annual Halloween story. They usually run them in a paper back in Erie, PA. But he always sends me a copy each year and they're always fun to read. Since it's in a newspaper, I think it's safe for general audiences. This one is about a hoo doo box. Take a minute to read it. You'll be glad you did. Read the story from GoErie.com...

Share Your Bad Moments: OK, speaking of short stories, have you heard of loosr.com? This web site. It's a fairly new site where people can share stories of embarrassing situations, disappointments, or just plain bad luck. You will probably see yourself in some of these amusing stories. Some of them are PG-13, so you've been forewarned.

Don't Tase Me, Bro! #53: Yesterday, I played this MC Hammer - Don't Tase Me Bro mash up. Red Pandas in Love: When you see this video. You'll say get a room or in Ned's case, get a on a plane! Two red pandas were caught on camera making out well after mating season.

Benny Lava Music Video: The last time I gave you a music video - it was from that prison in the Philippines where they recreated Michael Jackson's Thriller. This new one is from India. It's got actors and singers, but no inmates. And they're singing about some guy named Benny Lava and it includes lyrics like "The puppy has no fee..." What will surprise you is the elaborate dance numbers and the huge cast. I don't know when it was filmed, but I'm sure I saw a Members-Only jacket. Watch the video...

Worried about security on these sites you're checking out? My recommendation: Use Firefox. That is an official recommendation by the Click Chick over IE for those who are security minded. There is no question that non-IE browsers are safer although IE 7 is a major step in the right direction.
