The Friday morning iPhone 6 release was a worldwide event, making for one of the biggest stories leading into the weekend.
In countries all over the globe, customers lined up — and in many cases, camped — outside of Apple stores for a chance to get their hands on a new iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus.
One man was responsible for a couple of firsts in Perth, Australia, early Friday.
NBC News reports that the guy who bought the first iPhone 6 in Perth was taking it out of the box to show it to a reporter when the unthinkable happened.
The phone slipped out of its box and hit the concrete below.
A crowd of people was watching the interview, and they couldn’t help but razz the young man when the phone hit the ground.
The device appeared to still be in one piece, although it may have suffered some scratches on its screen.
Well, that’s one way to break in your new iPhone.
