Would someone really stoop so low?
According to the New York Daily News, a 21-year-old Princeton University graduate was hurrying back to his apartment before the arrival of superstorm Sandy when he was tripped, beaten and had his iPhone and wallet stolen.
“It was the last thing I was expecting,” recalled [Jeremy] Furchtgott, who was walking to his home near Chabad headquarters on Eastern Parkway before the attack. “I found myself on the ground and first thought that I tripped over a branch. Until I heard someone yell, ‘Give me your phone! Give me your wallet.'”
Furchtgott said one of the assailants told him to count to 100 before looking up or he would be shot.
Furchtgott said his wallet only had $40 in it.
Police do not have any suspects in the case.
