A moving story was told by James Cox, the father of Addison.

Addison's mom, Briana, was first diagnosed and treated with melanoma six years ago and has since passed away. Briana was a military veteran and former police officer.

Briana was cancer-free when she became pregnant with Addison, but when she was only a few weeks old the couple learned the disease had returned.

There are fewer than a dozen documented cases where cancer was transmitted from mother to child in the past decade.

Addison has been diagnosed with stage four melanoma. The cancer has spread to heart, liver and brain.

James said, "You would think this is one of the happiest babies on the face of the earth. She's a fighter just like her mom."

And who should pop in? Mac from KTAR with a teddy bear for my son! He may be my big man at a mere 9yrs old but sometimes you still just need something soft I snuggle and hold and make things a bit or a lot better! Thanks Mac and KTAR!

Our last family visit of the night was a story told by mom Lisa about her six-year-old son Brett.

At 13 months he had open heart surgery at PCH to fix his heart murmur. That cleared up the heart murmur problem he was having but in 2011 Brett had a bloody nose that would not stop. After being at the hospital for 20 minutes the doctor's knew he had Leukemia.

The cause of Leukemia is unknown but his mom is worried it was from all of the exposure to radiation he had when he was younger dealing with his heart problems.

Brett is in the maintenance stage, meaning he gets a daily dose of chemo.

8:00 p.m.

We finished the first day of KTAR's Give-A-Thon for Phoenix Children's Hospital with a grand total of $136,176. Thank you to all who donated for your generosity.

We will be back on the air Thursday at 5:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. There is still plenty of time to do your part and help support a worthy cause.
