PHOENIX - A public advocacy group is giving Arizona's state government a high mark for transparency in government spending.
The Arizona PIRG Education Fund's annual report gives the state an A-minus grade.
The group says the state provides accountability through checkbook-level disclosures on contracting, tax subsidies and other spending.
The group says the online disclosures are a major improvement for Arizona and at the forefront of a trend among state governments nationally.
