Mitt Romney will go head-to-head with current President Barack Obama in the 2012 election, said Meghan McCain.

The political columnist and daughter of famed Arizona senator John McCain appeared on News-Talk 92.3 KTAR's Mac & Gaydos Show Tuesday to talk about the election and the New Hampshire primary results.

"Charming is really the word I would use to describe Romney," said McCain, who spent time with Romney, his family and his staff during the presidential election in 2008 when Romney supported her father's campaign.

In McCain's opinion, Romney is a capable leader who has the potential to remove Obama from the White House.

According to McCain, the GOP nomination race is all but over.

"It will be done in a matter of weeks," said said, shortly after Romney was predicted the winner of the latest primary.
