TEMPE, Ariz. - Arizona State University police say they've called off the search for a reported gunman near the Tempe campus.
Police say a dormitory resident reported that a man robbed him of $10 at gunpoint and then fled the scene about 5 p.m. Monday.
Campus police say they don't believe it's a random act as the suspect may have known the victim.
ASU police tweeted and emailed alerts to faculty and student body. They said there were several sightings of the suspect on south side of campus and encouraged people to stay inside their dorms and residences.
But about an hour after the reported sightings, ASU said announced they had ``cleared'' the incident without finding anyone. But they have asked people to remain vigilant.
