Former television host Bill Nye has fired the latest round in the debate between creationists and evolutionists.

Nye said he cannot imagine the belief of creationism surviving longer than a few more centuries, though his comments are not likely to be well received.

and it's illegitimate child, the pseudo science "intelligent design" need to be laughed out of every educational venue that they dare to enter. Such primitive thinking retards America's march to the future.

Is the universe's age incompatible ID?
I find it interesting that Mr. Nye's argument for Evolution is the age of the universe and because intelligent USA scientists believe it. He seems to be building a straw man or making an emotional appeal-band wagon, both are fallacies. I wonder how he accounts for those scientist in history with a creationist worldview, e.g. Galileo, Isaac Newton. The age of the universe is not incompatible with a Creator. Is that all the evidence and argument he can give? It seems very inadequate. I wonder if he is speaking as a scientist or as an entertainer?

    Logic, not religion
The problem with "Intelligent Design" as a Science theory, is that it throws out the Scientific Method. The Big Bang demonstrates that there are measurable quantities with repeatable results. ID assumes there MUST be a god, therefore these things are true. You cannot measure or quantify the existence of a god, therefore it cannot be considered a scientific theory. You can argue it as a philosophy, but these are 2 clearly distinct things.
