Survivors of Jared Loughner's shooting rampage in Tucson last year are calling on the presidential candidates to end gun violence.

"We demand a plan," said Bill Badger, Pat Maisch and Pam Simon, of Tucson, in a TV ad released Sunday.

Maisch, who was not injured, helped disarm Loughner.

The ad was paid for by Mayors Against Illegal Guns, which has more than 600 members. Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton is the only Arizona mayor on the list.

    Demand?
I feel for the loss these folks went through but; "Demand for an end to GUN Vilonce"? Really, how about a ban on criminals the guns don't kill people the people kill people. If there was a way to keep guns away from criminals okay, but there isn't

There's no reasonable way to end
gun violence except through education. That's it, end of story. You can't stop it through gun control, retriction or banning. The most strict gun control cities, have the highest crime rate, so just imagine if every city did that. Gun violence is not from the gun, it's the user pulling the trigger. The user will just obtain guns illegally or use another weapon/non-weapon for their violence. Taking something away or restricting it never ever changes the behavior.

    It was a tragedy
but this is not a solution. Compare this to DUI laws. There are extremely strict DUI laws in most states, but innocent people continue to die. Laws are obeyed by the lawful. Criminals break the law, not because they don't fear the consequences, but because they have criminal minds. They think it is only bad if they get caught.

    Gun violence
Is a symptom. It's a tough fact to face, but it's true. Stopping gun violence will mean more knife violence, more razor blades in apples, more bombs, etc. We need to fix the rage and fervent rhetoric problem before we'll see any hope. Side note: Being a victim does not grant any authority or expertise. Just FYI.

    I
am very sorry of the Tucson events. Gun control however is not going to stop this kind of thing from happening. Look at places like Chicago...they have gun control and an abnormally high murder rate as only the bad people have guns. Mexico is another example..only the bad people have guns. Unfortunately there is no solution when it comes to mentally defective people who want to kill.....with guns, cars, knives, bombs.

    Demand .... Seriously!
"We demand a plan," to end gun violence said Bill Badger, Pat Maisch and Pam Simon, of Tucson ..... If you really believe a plan is viable .... please propose 'the plan' yourselves. I'm sure President Obama, your state respesentatives, your state and local authorities, your neighbors would be pleased. A reality check .... there is no plan because guns do NOT discharge by themselves. Prople are the problem ...... sick people......
