Custom jewlery stolen from the home. (Silent Witness)

The burglars that hit a home near Brown and Greenfield in Mesa must have thought they hit the jackpot.

The burglary happened on Friday, Nov. 6, 2012 sometime between 7:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

"They took a lot of items," said Phoenix Police Sgt. Darren Burch. "Gold coins, jewelry, weapons, ammunition and even night vision goggles."

The owners hadn't written down any of the serial numbers and police have no idea what happened to the stuff. It may have been pawned or sold.

Burch is concerned that the weapons could be used against someone in our community.

"If you have weapons and ammo in your home, hide it somewhere that burglars can't find it or use a safe if possible," he said.

Our next case was in east Phoenix. On Dec. 17, 2012 at about 9:30 a.m., a not-so-bright robber walked into The Food Box at Thomas and 56th Street.

"The clerk even recognized him as being a "regular" in the store," said Burch.

The man robbed the place at knifepoint, taking food and money. He also took the clerk's car keys and stole her car. It was later found a short distance away.

"This is somebody who's possibly known in the area so we should be able to find this guy," said Burch.
