News Summary: Poker rooms fold in Vegas casinos
(AP) - KNOW WHEN TO HOLD `EM: Poker has never been as big a moneymaker as slot machines. But when the game's popularity soared in the 2000s, casinos rushed to get players inside their buildings.
KNOW WHEN TO FOLD `EM: Now poker's popularity is fading. In Las Vegas at least eight rooms have folded in the past two years. The trend is also evident on Mississippi riverboats, in Indian casinos and in gambling halls near big cities.
TAPPED OUT: The recession drained casinos across the board. Poker revenue continues to slump by an average of 6 percent a year.
