(AP) - FROM BUST TO BETTER: The housing market that collapsed five years ago is slowly on the mend. That will help underpin job growth, consumer spending, and the whole economy in 2013, says Charles Schwab & Co.'s Chief Investment Strategist, Liz Ann Sonders.

WITH ASSISTANCE: U.S. manufacturing will also improve, aided by stronger demand from emerging markets. That will help offset the declining government spending, Sonders says.

GOOD VALUE: Stocks are also attractively valued compared with their long-term, historical averages. That should also help attract demand.
