• The Chaparral Suites in Scottsdale has a new owner and will undergo a name change. Snyder Real Estate bought the 312-room hotel for $34 million. Renovations are set to begin in the summer. The hotel will reopen as Embassy Suites at the end of the year.
• Foosia in north Scottsdale is celebrating its first anniversary by offering free food. Customers who show up Tuesday between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. will get an Asian Bowl.
