Main Street Minute: Backpack giveaway at Tempe mall

KTAR’s Main Street Minute focuses on local businesses that are hiring, businesses that are opening and events across the community. Each weekday these stories air on KTAR at 7:27 a.m. More information can be found below.
• Arizona Mills Mall will be giving out backpacks this weekend to the first 1,000 kids who show up. The Alliance for Schools Choice summer tour wraps up outside entrance one Saturday. Backpacks will be handed out from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. or when all of the backpacks are gone.
• Tempe-based Insight Enterprises has 120 positions to fill by the end of the year. All the openings are focused in sales and technical work.
• Safeway stores in Arizona will hand out cupcakes Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. for a small donation to the grocer’s Support for People with Disabilities fundraising campaign The campaign runs through August.
