Halloween light shows are scary awesome

Oct 15, 2014, 1:28 AM | Updated: Apr 24, 2015, 8:06 pm

During the “most wonderful time of the year,” we’re accustomed to seeing elaborate Christmas light shows, set to tunes like “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.” These shows are heart-warming and nostalgic.

But a haunted Halloween light show set to dubstep music? Frighteningly awesome.

Americans across the country are starting to raise the bar when it comes to holiday light shows, as these October displays become more common and more impressive.

One residence in Illinois has the glowing faces of singing ghouls lip sing to Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody.” Another house has song lyrics scroll over their garage door, shaped like a clown’s face, while a dubstep medley rocks their neighborhood.

Whatever the music or light choices, these Americans are truly adding another dimension to Halloween traditions. Trick-or-treating beware, something even more exciting is hitting the neighborhood this year.
