Riding the Maid of the Mist at Niagara Falls was fun; The Edge Walk at the CN Tower was scary and exciting at the same time; and the AGO's David Bowie exhibit was fascinating.
But if I had to pick just one thing it would have to be the food. Toronto is the perfect place for anyone looking to experience a diverse culinary adventure. Thankfully, I packed my stretchy jeans because I decided to give myself permission to eat whatever I wanted while I was there. Now, I'm not so sure if that was a good idea. I think I gained about 10 pounds on my trip!
So today I am back on my celery, asparagus and chicken diet, and looking for inspiring stories to get back in shape, like the one in the latest issue of Fitness magazine.
Have you ever wondered how Padma Lakshmi, host of "Top Chef" keeps that amazing body, when part of her job is to try all the delicious creations on the show? In the issue she admits to gaining 15 pounds and goes up two dress sizes during every season. Then, she her works her butt off to get back in shape for TV and magazine covers.
The 43-year-old star incorporates weights, boxing, jump rope and climbing 70 flights of stairs a day into her fitness regimen. But a healthy diet certainly helps too.
"I follow a clean diet: no meats, no sweets, no alcohol, no cheese, no fried food, no wheat," she tells the magazine.
