A former United States Air Force mechanic was reportedly arrested earlier this year for attempting to join the Islamic State.
ABC News reported Tairod Nathan Webster Pugh was indicted Monday for attempting to travel to Syria to join Isis between May 2014 and January 2015.
Documents showed Pugh flew from Egypt to Turkey on Jan. 10. He was denied entry and returned to Egypt.
He was arrested Jan. 18 after being deported from Egypt.
Pugh allegedly tried to destroy several USB thumb drives prior to his arrest.
