LOS ANGELES (AP) - Dozens of fired Los Angeles police officers are taking up the chief's offer to re-examine their dismissals since a deadly rampage by Christopher Dorner, who claimed that he was wrongly expelled from the force.

The Los Angeles Times ( http://lat.ms/Y7E2uY) reports 40 former officers have requested case reviews in the two months since Dorner killed four people before apparently committing suicide in a mountain cabin.

Dorner claimed his 2009 firing was prompted by racism. Chief Charlie Beck vowed he would re-examine the cases of other officers who believed they were wrongly expelled.

However, the Times reports the officers have been told the city charter prevents the LAPD from reinstating officers who were fired more than three years ago.

I for one, am tired of the lies. I am tired of the lying police, I am tired of the covering up media. One. anyone here ever hear of the 4th amendment. this stops unlawful searches of homes. but for this guy, we'll over look it. next, the use of drones.. is America a war zone? next the insane idea of a trial... You think this guy would have honestly got one? I look at this cabin fire and think Waco.

    Careful Blackcrest,
the enemy is tracking your internet activity, won't be long before the black helicopters are above you, and the black SUV with blacked out windows is parked across the street from your house. And yes, America is a war zone, lot of wackos running loose out there and we must have more laws to prevent this from occurring again in the future. Most wackos can be found drinking the Kool Aid at the DNC.

It was over the moment he started killing, you people! Why do you have so much to say about it. He needed taking out. Period. He stated what he was going to do. Period. Done, gone, shut up! Lying Police, shut up. No waste of taxpayers $ here to capture and prosecute an admitted killer. Now you can talk about the baby found dead in the trash outside of Yuma.
