WASHINGTON (AP) - Republican Sen. John McCain's tweet comparing Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to a monkey is drawing criticism from a fellow GOP lawmaker as racist.

On Monday, McCain wrote,

Faced with criticism, McCain said in another tweet,

That didn't satisfy Rep. Justin Amash of Michigan, who tweeted,

During the 2008 presidential campaign, McCain created a stir during a South Carolina appearance when he repeated "Bomb Iran," to the tune of the Beach Boys song "Barbara Ann."

Leave it to libs to inject their racist perspective into innocent discourse. Ironic that those who proclaim their superior compassion and tolerance are the ones who tend to find and sensationalize racial differnces in, say, a chair leg.

    For a seasoned Senator...
That was about as funny as "bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran". I don't believe he was trying to be racist, but he did a very good job of appearing stupid.

I like when he referred to Leisure World

    racist??
People, come on. Its not a racist statement. He wasn't comparing Ahmad... to a monkey because of his looks, but rather because of his intellect, or lack thereof.

    Racist?
that term get used so often anymore that it has no meaning. The illegal invaders use it even though illegal is not a race, now terrorists are using it and terrorists are not a race.

Somehow I get the feeling if
Leno or Letterman would have said this during one of their monologues, this wouldn't get nearly as much attention.

So let me see if I can get this straight
The left wing gets mad at McCain for calling Ahmadinejad a monkey. Left wing media covers the monkey comment because left wingers make a big deal out of it. Ahmadinejad calls the Israeli/Jews pigs and monkeys, calls for the destruction of all Jews and the left wingers don't say anything and the left wing media doesn't really cover it. Anyone else feel that this might have been a simmilar environment created by Hitler before WWII?

at this time in his life and career McCain gives a d*mn what anyone thinks about his comments, tweets or anything else. Aren't we all just getting tired of everyone trying to be socially and politically correct - it's sooo boring and obvious.
