(AP) - Most died at the very start of their young lives, tiny victims massacred in their first-grade classrooms. Others made their life's work sheltering young ones, teaching them and treating them as their own. The aftermath of the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School that left 28 dead was more than many could bear.
