HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - An official says toxicology tests on the Newtown school shooter's body did not turn up any alcohol, illegal drugs or prescription medication.

Twenty-year-old Adam Lanza fatally shot 20 first-graders and six educators at Sandy Hook Elementary School on Dec. 14 before killing himself. He also killed his mother at their Newtown home before going to the school.

An official close to the investigation said Tuesday that toxicology tests on Lanza were negative for alcohol, drugs and medication. The official, who was not authorized to publicly disclose the information and spoke on condition of anonymity, also says some victims' families were notified of the test results.

The toxicology results were first reported by The Hartford Courant.

Authorities haven't revealed whether Lanza had been prescribed medications and haven't suggested a possible motive for the massacre.

Gun nuts and their national organization, the NRA,
will tell us that mental illness is the issue, not guns. These same people will then turn around and fight every effort to keep guns out of the hands of mentally ill, wannabe mass murderers as they have in the past.

I'm just waiting for freaks like
Russell Pearce come out and say that "why wasn't there a teacher with a gun there to take down the shooter" (???!!!!) You see...that is the mentality of the gun-lovers. They are afraid that the government will take away their "macho-toys". We have had enough of these massacres. We need gun control. END OF STORY.

    Worse crimes
Worse crimes happen in other countries without GUNs. What an idiot you are Dan The Man to say "Stuff like this just doesn't happen in other countries." Just to name one single country where private ownership of GUNS would have stopped their nasty mess Iraq. GUNS do not kill people, and yes people do. Sadly it will increase as the population increases. Get over you ignorance on guns. FYI. I do not even own a play/toy gun.

    Hey idiots
You know who I am talking about. The people who look at the 1% of anything. How many guns kill innocent people in a % on a daily basis in the USA vs car accidents? Get off of GUN control. When people want to kill people they will do it with or without GUNS. Chemicals, bombs, fly a plain into a building, drive a semi into a crowed of people.
