PHOENIX — A Phoenix suburb has launched an online resource to make post-monsoon storm cleanup more efficient.
The interactive mapping tool, called Monsoon Central, allows users to notify Tempe of any damage in their neighborhood following storms.
“People can pinpoint where they have damage, or debris, or flooding and upload photos, upload the information and it allows us to track and target out response,” Amanda Nelson with the city said.
Nelson said the data will not only help them respond faster to immediate issues, but will also allow them to track where incidents commonly occur so they can plan ahead and make adjustments.
It will also allow the city to document storm damage to the Federal Emergency Management Agency during extreme weather events.
