LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. — Lake Havasu City’s cycling community is mourning the loss of a well-known bike shop owner who was killed in a collision with a vehicle.
The Today’s News-Herald reports (http://bit.ly/1GUAkYq) that the Arizona Department of Public Safety says 60-year-old Deborah Robison and 63-year-old Lawrence Smith were struck while bicycling Wednesday.
DPS officials say the couple was riding south on State Route 95 when a car driven by 31-year-old Erica Etten hit them, causing both to lose control.
Authorities say Robison was pronounced dead at the scene. Smith was flown to a Las Vegas hospital. His condition was unknown Friday.
DPS says driver impairment does not appear to be a factor and Etten has not been charged.
Robison and Smith are owners of AZBuilt Sports, a shop that sells and rents bikes.
