PHOENIX — Officials now believe a missing Arizona couple could have been the victims of foul play.
Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu said Tuesday in a statement the search for Tina and Michael Careccia was on going, but had also turned into a criminal investigation. He did not provide more details.
Wednesday evening PCSO detectives conducted a search in the back yard of a home that is less than a mile from where the couple’s car was found.
The Careccias went missing about 5 a.m. on June 22 near Maricopa, Arizona. The couple’s car was found near Ralston and Papago roads, just a mile from their home.
Michael, 44, is 5-foot-10 and 180 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
Tina, 42, is 5-foot-8, 140 pounds with blonde hair.
The family is offering up to $3,000 in reward money for information that will help find the couple and Silent Witness is offering an additional $1,000.
