Along with 17 other universities, the University of Arizona has earned distinction as an Innovation and Economic Prosperity University by the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities.
The designation recognizes schools and universities working in their respective states and regions to support economic development through activities such as innovation and entrepreneurship, technology transfer, talent and workforce development and community development.
“The University of Arizona is not only a top-tier research institution but also an important economic engine for our state,” said Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey. “The university’s recognition by the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities underscores its value in both respects.”
Ohio State, Penn State, Purdue and Michigan are the schools that have also earned the distinction in the two years since its inception.
