PHOENIX — The small mountain town of Flagstaff, Arizona is a popular getaway for Phoenicians, but it may get a lot more visitors if it wins an online contest.
Flagstaff is one of 64 cities competing to be named the “Best Town Ever” in an Outside Magazine bracket-style vote. The home of Northern Arizona University is currently in the top eight.
In previous rounds, Flagstaff beat Sheridan, Wyoming; Hilo, Hawaii; and Pagosa Springs, Colorado in the votes. It’s currently matched against Cinderella-story Port Angeles, Washington and trailed by several hundred votes as of Friday morning.
Voting for this round closes Saturday at midnight.
