College students seeking a bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona no longer have to move to Tucson.
The UA North Valley initiative will allow students to earn a full Bachelor of General Studies degree in Phoenix through a partnership with the Maricopa County Community College District.
In order to take upper-division classes necessary to obtain the degree, students will meet with UA faculty members at the UA North Valley headquarters at Paradise Valley Community College, according to a news release.
The degree program offers courses in four areas of focus including Arts, Media and Entertainment; Global and Intercultural Understanding; Social Behavior and Human Understanding; and the Study of the U.S. and the American Experience. Students will also be required to participate in an internship to gain real-world experience.
Enrollment has begun for fall 2015.
