PHOENIX — Hikers, campers and boaters making their way to Glen Canyon can
expect to pay a little more this summer.
The Glen Canyon National Recreation Area is increasing fees starting in June to
fund maintenance and improvement projects including courtesy docks and improved
visitor services.
The fees will increase over the next two years with individual day passes
moving from $7 to $10 in June then to $12 starting in January.
Camping and
boating fees will also go up, some by as much $20 for an annual pass.
Interagency senior and annual passes will remain the same price.
Officials said they have reduced the fees from what they originally proposed in
2014.
