Searching for an apartment can be a bit of a chore. Searching for an affordable apartment can be an even greater challenge.
Fortunately for current and prospective residents of the Phoenix metro area, the Valley ranks as one of the most affordable markets in the country for renters.
According to Thrillist’s list, which calculates the “the average cost of monthly rent (compared to average monthly mortgage payment), percentage increase in rent per year, and median household income” in the 50 largest U.S. metro areas, Phoenix ranks the eighth-most affordable metro area in the country. Indianapolis, Indiana ranked as the nation’s most affordable market for renters.
San Francisco, California is home to the most expensive renters’ market, according to Thrillist.
