PHOENIX — The 11th Annual Pat Tillman run is only a 4.2 mile run, but what it brings is massive. “It’s spectacular, I’m so happy for the people who benefit from it”, said Perry Edinger, creator of Pat’s Run.
This year, 45,000 people from around the world will participate in the run, while hundreds more will participate in satellite runs. “There’s 45 satellite runs this year, that’s incredible,” added Edinger.
“Pat would look down and think this is a good deal, because it helps people; just like he tried to help people,” Edinger said.
The Pat Tillman Foundation invests in military veterans and their spouses through educational scholarships. To this point, it has funded 347 students.
Pat Tillman put his NFL career with the Arizona Cardinals on hold to serve his country. He served in Iraq and Afghanistan where he was killed as a result of friendly fire.
