PHOENIX — Three people were killed in a multivehicle crash that closed a main highway between Phoenix and Las Vegas on Friday.
A fourth person was taken to a hospital.
The Arizona Department of Transportation said the three-car wreck on U.S. 93 happened about 15 miles northwest of Wickenburg, Arizona at milepost 181. The highway was closed in both directions for hours. It reopened about 3:15 p.m.
Two people in a car died when a pickup truck coming from the opposite direction crossed the center line and hit a semi and the car. The driver of the semi had swerved but the truck still hit it, said a spokesman for the Department of Public Safety.
The pickup truck driver also died.
