Police identify victims of Mesa shooting spree

PHOENIX — Police have released the names of the people who were shot during a Mesa, Arizona shooting spree.
The man who was killed at the Tri-City Inn Motel near Main Street and Alma School Road was 29-year-old David James Williams.
Williams’ girlfriend, Victoria Ehrig, said the shooter, Ryan Giroux, also tried to shoot her but the gun failed to fire.
The other victims were 51-year-old Lydia Marie Nielson, 19-year-old Jessica Lee Burgess, 20-year-old Isaac Martinez, 24-year-old Donavon Walker and 25-year-old Marcus Butler.
They were hospitalized and expected to live.
Giroux was charged Thursday with murder and 33 other felony counts.
