PHOENIX — A trial date has been set for next month for a Phoenix woman charged with abuse after leaving
her small children in a hot car.
Shanesha Taylor’s trial was scheduled to start March 31 and a pretrial conference was scheduled March 24.
Taylor was arrested nearly a year ago for leaving two of her children in a hot car while she went to a job interview in Scottsdale.
She told authorities she had to bring the children because she couldn’t make other arrangements for a sitter.
Sympathizers gave more than $114,000 in online donations to Taylor, after her tearful mug shot and story went viral. But she failed to meet a pair of deadlines to put those donations in a trust fund for her two sons.
Maricopa County prosecutors had suspended the charges, dependent on the establishment of the trust fund.
Felony child abuse charges were reinstated.
