PHOENIX — The Arizona Department of Transportation won’t be closing any freeways this weekend, as traffic will be heavier than usual from Super Bowl-related events.
ADOT is postponing construction-related closures from Friday through Monday to reduce delays.
On Sunday — game day — expect closures in the area around University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale. Those restrictions are laid out below:
• The Loop 101 northbound on-ramps at Camelback and Bethany Home roads will be closed from 2 to 6 p.m.
• The Loop 101 off-ramps in both directions at Glendale and Maryland avenues and Bethany Home Road will be closed from 6 to 10 p.m.
• Ninety-fifth Avenue will be closed between Maryland Avenue and Bethany Home Road.
• Eastbound Glendale Avenue will be closed between 99th and 95th avenues from 6 to 10 p.m.
• Northbound 91st Avenue will be closed between Camelback and Bethany Home Roads from 6 to 10 p.m.
• Eastbound Bethany Home Road will be closed between 95th and 91st avenues from 6 to 10 p.m.
ADOT has a list of other safe-driving tips for Super Bowl weekend:
• Never drive while impaired
• Arrange for a designated driver
• Buckle up
• Obey speed limits
• Be prepared to slow down in wet weather
• Check your vehicle, including tire pressure
• Be patient, don’t tailgate
