Look to the skies! On Sunday, Feb. 1, West Valley residents may see scores of Seattle Seahawks fans’ faces flying above them.
According to MyNorthwest.com, a large flag will fly over Super Bowl XLIX in Glendale, Ariz., featuring thousands of photos of Seahawks fans, who are often referred to as the team’s “12th Man.”
The 12,000 square-foot helicopter banner is being custom-made by Airsign Aerial Advertising of Florida for Seattle-based PEMCO Insurance. It’ll feature a mosaic of pictures submitted online of fans clad in their 12th Man finery.
As of Saturday morning, more than 13,000 fans had uploaded pictures to be featured on the banner. PEMCO is hoping to collect 24,000 entries to fill the number 12. Seahawks fans also have a chance to sign the flag om the Seattle area through Monday.
In addition to hovering over University of Phoenix Stadium as the Seahawks take on the New England Patriots, the large banner will be flown above Seattle later in the week.
