Glendale police are investigating Rickey McGee Brisbon, whose brother, Rumain, made headlines after being shot and killed by a police officer earlier this month.
Authorities said a woman called police Friday morning and claimed to have been physically and sexually assaulted by the 38-year-old Brisbon. She also alleged he threatened to kill her and the officer who killed his brother, Mark Rine.
Police questioned Brisbon, a Glendale resident, on Friday evening, trying to verify the assault allegations and his threats on the woman and the officer’s lives.
Brisbon was then arrested and booked Friday night into the Glendale City Jail on an unrelated misdemeanor charge of domestic violence and interference of judicial proceedings. He allegedly violated his release conditions from a June 2013 aggravated assault and domestic violence case.
He was also booked for marijuana possession and drug paraphernalia possession.
Police said the victim in the 2013 case is not the same as the one who called police on him Friday.
Phoenix police said Rine was investigating a tip that Rumain Brisbon was
conducting a drug deal Dec. 2 when he mistook a pill bottle in Brisbon’s pocket
for a gun and shot him.
