PHOENIX — Two groups are coming together to help as many as 21,000 people in Arizona.
The Bob and Renee Parsons Foundation and TheDream.us are starting a fund to raise $4 million in college scholarships for DREAMers.
Those are people who were brought to the United States illegally when they were children and have now been approved for deferred action. They can legally live, work and attend college here in the U.S.
The Phoenix Business Journal says the two groups will match every dollar donated to the fund, up to $2 million. DREAMers can use the money to earn degrees at Arizona State University or at Maricopa County Community Colleges.
In announcing the fundraising effort, Parsons said that his foundation does not work with any organization that does not supporter undocumented immigrants.
