Good news: Your relatives aren’t likely to get as intoxicated this Thanksgiving as those in most states will.
Thrillist.com recently collaborated with Movoto.com to create a list of America’s “booziest” states. Essentially, they rated every state’s beer scene using criteria such as per-capital craft breweries and last-call hours.
When the tabulations were complete, Arizona was ranked No. 27 out of 50.
The report did give Arizona high marks for its “incredible density” of top-notch breweries such as Four Peaks Brewing Company in Tempe, Sonoran Brewing Company in Phoenix and Barrio Brewing Co. in Tucson.
“There’re plenty of reasons to avoid Arizona (scorpion, meet shoe), but beer isn’t one of them,” the report stated.
The report listed Oregon as America’s booziest state, while Arkansas came in dead last. Also toward the bottom were numerous southern states such as Mississippi (49), Alabama (48) and Georgia (46).
