PHOENIX — The phrase, “Once it’s on the Internet, it’s there forever” is taking on a new meaning for students in a Phoenix suburb, thanks to MSNBC host Rachel Maddow.
After the Gilbert school board voted to rip out pages of honors biology textbooks that mentioned abortion, Maddow’s staff not only obtained copies of the pages, but posted them online.
“They’re lovely in their boring biology-ness,” Maddow said in a segment. “If you want to brush up on how a baby’s made or how contraception works and all that stuff at a 10th grade level, be my guest.”
During that segment, she also attacked Arizona for passing a measure that allows the state to withhold money and staffing in carrying out any federal program or effort that voters or lawmakers deem unconstitutional.
