PHOENIX — Nearly a week after a fire forced evacuation of hundreds of guests, a downtown Phoenix hotel is set to reopen.
The Sheraton Phoenix Downtown Hotel planned to swing open its doors again Friday after an
electrical fire erupted on the ground level.
Several explosions echoed through the building near Third and Van Buren streets around 11 a.m. on Oct. 25. An estimated 800 guests had to leave.
A note on the hotel’s website dated Oct. 29 said power had been partially restored and repairs were expected to be finished for the Friday reopening.
The hotel has 1,000 guestrooms.
