PHOENIX — A woman identified as a person of interest in last week’s shooting of an Arizona Department of Safety officer was questioned and released over the weekend, police said.
There was no cause to arrest 29-year-old Vanessa Martinez.
Police said Monday that they continue to search for two men believed connected
to the Oct. 8 wounding of a DPS officer. The six-year veteran was shot in the head.
They said 39-year-old Ramon L. Bueno, who is believed to be the shooter, and 26-year-old Danny Angel Vargas are wanted for questioning.
A 24-year-old woman, Valeria S. Jaime, was arrested on suspicion of hindering
prosecution last week and released with restrictions.
Police believe Jaime’s boyfriend was the alleged shooter, but she wouldn’t
confirm any details.
A reward up to $11,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest or arraignment in the case.
