PHOENIX — Scottsdale’s selfie game is strong — the strongest in the nation, in fact, according to MyLife, a national online information profile site.
Despite the social nature of this ranking, it wasn’t determined just by scrolling through the plethora of self-taken online images. MyLife began with the 100 most populous cities in the country and investigated their number of parks, sunny days per year and number of cellphone stores.
All these factors considered, Scottsdale came in at No. 1 on the list. MyLife cited the city’s large amount of sunny days combined with the high volume of cellphone stores located in Scottsdale’s landscape. Scottsdale is known for its busy night life and high-class restaurants and hotels, which might provide many of the selfie opportunities.
Five of the other top 10 areas were located in California, including the No. 2 selfie city, Irvine, Calif., which has many college campuses as well as beaches to serve as backdrops. Sacramento, Chula Vista, San Diego and Santa Ana all joined Irvine on the list.
Florida was also well-represented, as Miami, Orlando and Tampa were all recognized for their selfie style, ranking third, fifth and sixth, respectively.
Las Vegas came in fourth as the sole representative from Nevada.
Besides Scottsdale, though, the Grand Canyon State has many other sunny, scenic places for selifes that are sure to get likes.
