Not-so-happy meal: Phoenix couple calls 911 over wrong order

PHOENIX -- A couple called 911 after they didn't receive hash browns with their breakfast order at a Mesa fast-food restaurant.

Michael and Nova Smith told local TV news that they called the emergency number because McDonald's managers weren't helping them.

The managers are accusing the Smiths of assault and disorderly conduct for throwing food at employees.

The couple placed a drive-through order but when they didn't see two orders of hash browns in the bags, they went inside the restaurant to complain.

Michael Smith said managers wouldn't give them a refund so he called 911 and walked behind the counter to confront the manager.

When the managers refused to give her hash browns or her money back, Nova Smith said she threw her bag of food in their direction.
